From 26/08/2008 onwards,I have offically pointed 2 new blog administrators for our class blog. They are Nisa and Stella. This will be managed by them in future, while I will add in my input here and there.

I hope it will be a good platform for the class 2M2 to interact and update one another of our recent activities. We can share ideas, resources of anything under the sun.

Did anyone of you watch the National Day Rally recently? Our Prime Minister mentioned about work life balance.

After working for a couple of years, both in the private and public sector, I figured that everything in life is about finding a balance. You can't have the best of both world in real life.
So... make the best of whatever you have! That's my philosophy. :)

Life can be challenging at times and that's where we are put to test. Accept the challenge, learn from it. We grow and become more mature from these experiences. Last but not least, always remember to appreciate people around you. They are often the important support that we have overlooked.

Just some reflection.

Dear 2M2,

Sorry for the delay. Really caught up with many activities lately!Well, coming back to the the High School Musical Experience @ Expo was fantastic!

Most of you have enjoyed the show, was able to sing along with the lead singer and sway your body according to the rhythm. Many dress well for the occassion and I must really praise the group for behaving so well outside school!
Looking forward to the next outing ! :)

Racial Harmony Day

Marsiling Scondary celebrates Racial Harmony Day on 24th July 2008.
This year, I decided to wear the Chinese Fusion version. My last year version was Indian fusion version.Many of the teachers commented they missed my last year version!

Other than being in different enthic costume as a syymbolic representation, I believe mutual respect among the different races is very important.

Many of the 2M2 students did make an effort to dress up for that day. I was impressed. I thought Darrell's black and white outfit was smart. The one Tricia and Norishma wearing has very unique cut. Qama's western dress was beautifu, with the pleated hair. Oh ya! Nasyrul's Arab costume was special too!

Sudoku Competition @ Broadrick Secondary

I brought four cheerful students with me to Broadrick Secondary School for Sudoku Competition on 23 July 2008
They are : Meiling, Stella from 2M2, Jie Kie and Wei Quan from 2M1.

There were 23 schools competiting for this competition. We did not manage to get into second round. However, we did manage to walk away with a consolation Prize!

It was a fun afternoon with these 4 bubbly figures around. Wei Quan even won a taxi seat from Ms Lim!!! I am glad you all had fun. Hope to see more students involved in competition where they have fun at the same time.

Oh ya... thanks for sharing the prizes with Ms Lim :) Very thoughtful of you all.

Got to back track a bit! Rather busy this two weeks!

Just to share with my dear 2M2, I went to Gary's (Cao Ge) Concert on 12 July at National Indoor Stadium. The concert was fantastic! I am not a fan of his but I must say his vocal is indeed very powerful and unique!

I truly enjoyed the 2 hours concert. I simply love the duet " liang shan bo zhu yin tai". :)

Dear M2,

I hope that you will fully make use of this holiday to "recharge" yourself too.
It is important to revise on your work as well, especially those subjects you are weaker at.

Some tips for you:

1) Write down on paper the list of things you need to finish by this holiday.
2) Do the most important and urgent ones first.(cross the task out when completed)
3) Complete at least two things per day.
E.g Complete Math HW Q1 to Q20 and clear my bedroom.

FINALLY! My holiday break is approaching! :) It was a busy time towards the end of the term as well as beginning of the holiday term.

1) Learning Journey with 1L1 to Singapore Post on 13 May 08. (with Gen)

2) Preparing for Math Trail 14 May 08 (with Mrs Geetha's help, Thanks) for 2M1, 2M2 2M3, 2S1, 2S2, 2S3.

3) Preparing for Sudoku Workshop @ Marsiling Secondary on 21 May 08

4) Generating result slips for School Cockpit (15-17 May)

Start of School Holiday:
1) 27, 28, 29 May Math remedial for SEC4 and 5S1

2) 30 May Badminton Training cum remedial for 2 students

BUT.... after all these, I am truely glad that I did plan for a trip for my holiday!
Really looking forward to my Trip to JAPAN to "recharge" myself!

I missed out the fashion parade for IFD.(On MC)
Was thankful that Mr Bala took the initiative to provide the Thai costumes for our class representative, Yong Guo and Nurul.

NB: Yong Guo and Nurul...how does it feel like to "parade on the stage?"

Qama and Syafiqah took part in the Finding of Traditional Game project.
I am glad to announce the Syafiqah's entry won the 2nd Prize!!! Good Job!

Qama: Good effort, Ms Lim really like the design you created and the extend of effort you went to find the model of the games. We can focus more of the content too next round. No worry... we will try again next time round. :)

In conjuction with Earth Day celebration, MSL had a R-corner Competition.
I have a team of dedicated students that had put in much effort to decorate the R-corner. Really appreciate the effort and I must say I am impressed by the creativty that the committees have. I have received very good feedback from other teachers as well. I am in fact, more glad to see that some of you can get together as a class and work in harmony. Keep up the good work 2M2! :)
